These Australian cockatoos were squabbling, rather noisily, on my back fence. It was sunflower seed time and no-one had come to feed them a fight over superiority was occurring and many feathers were flying around. Being a very noisy, large bird with a graceful flight, I was attempting to portray their movement and noise by a bright and busy background. The original painting was completed with many layers of gesso, texture paste, bright acrylic paints and inks.
